Overview

Pointcore worked with OSF HealthCare in the delivery of a six-story Cancer Institute designed to advance comprehensive oncology care. The project included approximately 194,000 square feet of new construction for the main facility, which includes advanced technologies, examination areas, practitioner offices, quite areas and a serene outdoor healing center. The project also included a new parking deck spanning over 350,000 square feet to accommodate patients and visitors.

A cornerstone of the project was building a concrete vault to house a Varian ProBeam 360 proton therapy system and a dedicated patient room for this targeted radiation therapy. Pointcore led a rigorous preconstruction process to meet manufacturer specifications while simultaneously integrating the therapy system and dedicated room into the broader build.

The Cancer Institute brings together a full spectrum of cancer care services all under one roof, including infusion, diagnostics, surgery, radiation, clinical consultation and research. This project brings state-of-the-art cancer care and an elevated patient experience to central Illinois, making OSF a regional destination for cutting-edge treatment.
